I had some issues with rear sag and did adjust preload.Total weight was around 250lb(170 3x25) 1 Share Report Save level 1 Original Poster 1 year ago Questions first then text: What is healthy highway speeds for drz on 1544sprockets Is it 3.2 gal tank When and why Drz eats oil(cause mine doesnt).ĭrz is alright on hwy but I go 55-60 mph so it doesnt wobble. Might need to adjust your suspension to compensate. Share Report Save Continue this thread level 1 1 year ago If it is wobbling over 60 mph, try taking that windscreen off.

I thought 16 front would be a super tight fit. Its not an issue now, but when Ill go east, Ill definitely need an extra gas can. I had gas stops every 100-115 miles with 2-2.3gal per stop. It might seem a basic explanation for some, but an eye opener for me. I shouldve follow DIY instructions to create cheap solution(rally style). Ive seen bajaworks windscreen but it worth more and takes wins only from chest.

Without all my adventure gear, those speeds would get me 36 mpg. The worse fuel mileage Ive gotten was when fully loaded for adventure and riding as fast as possible to get home. I have 18k miles of mostly highway at 70mph. Yes, the DRZ can do highway speeds with power to pass. High RPMs will great a lot of oil vapor from the crankcase which gets sucked into the air intact.Ĭheck it often when blasting down the highway 70 mph.

I noticed that the mechanic put 10w40 (motorcycle) oil in after replacing the sprag clutch, but the manual says to use 15w50.My buddys gone as slow as 40 mph and gotten insane fuel mileage to get back to camp. One other thing to mention - I had to get the sprag clutch replaced. Quote from: kjvelo on June 05, 2014, 10:45:59 pm Hey guys, I noticed that the mechanic put 10w40 (motorcycle) oil in after replacing the sprag clutch, but the manual says to use 15w50. I've read up on a bunch of forums on comfortable cruising speeds with the UCE engines, and it seems that most people say the C5 should be pretty good at 60-65 mph after it's been run in.Īny suggestions as to what I should start with to try and reduce vibration at highway speeds? The handlebars were vibrating a lot at that speed (to the point that it was uncomfortable to ride, and I exited off the highway after a few mins). Last night, I took it on the highway for the first time and took it up to 60 mph. The bike is in great condition (at least aesthetically), so I'd guess that the previous owner was careful about running it in properly, but I have no way of knowing for sure. It had about 3000 miles on it when I bought it, and I've only put about 75 miles on it so far. I just bought a used 2010 C5 a couple of weeks ago.
